Achieving a sustainable and inclusive recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic requires awareness at global mass level and the replication of best practices across the globe. The implementation of Sustainable Development Goals including climate resilience and crisis recovery can only be made truly possible if we educate and nurture minds at global mass level. Equitable access to quality education and a better knowledge of sustainability are substantial in building a global community. Building back better not only requires the international community to invest in and prioritize education, but also requires students to be more equipped to effectively navigate the social, environmental, and economic problems of the 21st century. Similarly, collective action can only be achieved through collective wisdom and international environmental diplomacy.

SDSN’s education programs are the leading experts in sustainable development content and education delivery and resources can be scaled up in multiple contexts to provide the knowledge, values, and skills that allow students and life-long learners to mitigate climate change by acting on local sustainability challenges. This session will detail innovative methods to incorporate sustainable development themes into classrooms and across all levels of education. It will feature Global Schools Advocates, the SDG Academy Global Classrooms initiative, and insights from the UN Youth Climate Advisor. The event will augment the leadership dialogue and produce take-aways for Stockholm+50 delegates and participants
