Drawing on recent research, this lecture by Jorrit Holst from the Institute for Future at Freie Universität Berlin will provide valuable insights into the effectiveness of whole-institution sustainability and offer actionable pathways for change.

The forum will again bring together key decision-makers and knowledge experts to exchange opinions and share best-practice examples on the role of global citizenship education (GCED) and education for sustainable development (ESD) in addressing the climate crisis.

This webinar consists of two presentations, from Doctoral researchers at IOE, which will explore this challenge of combining a global and a Chinese perspective in relation to notions of citizenship in two different educational contexts.

Sachs together with Karimot Odebode, award-winning poet, lawyer and founder of Black Girl's Dream Initiative, a youth-led organization aimed at closing the gender gap, and Young Reporters.

This will include sharing updates on the ESD for 2030 country initiatives and on upcoming projects by UNESCO, showcasing innovative and promising practices from our partner organizations, and discussing action points for the network in 2025 at the global and regional levels.

This side event will introduce the “Nature Labs” initiative, developed by the G20 Global Land Initiative and Sustainable Development Solutions Network (SDSN), to bring land-use education to 1 million students worldwide.

The Symposium on Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) strives to enhance the understanding and explore the engagement of ESD within general education and beyond. It serves as a platform for the exchange of exemplary practices for ESD specifically in higher education institutes (HEIs), with the larger goal to advance ESD in HEIs both within Hong Kong and internationally.
