DERC has played a leading role, alongside more than 30 educational organisations from across the UK, in the development of an advocacy paper called ‘The Case for Global Learning’.
This paper is intended as a call to arms, setting out the facts, citing development and urging wide support for the schooling community to address the issues facing our planet in a concerted and structured way. Among other recommendations, it calls for a national strategy on Global Learning.
The new Labour government has committed to “strengthen(ing) international development work within the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office”. Let's make sure that this welcome promise includes a renewed focus on global learning at the heart of the school curriculum.
If you work on or around global education and learning, join this online launch to find out more about the project, hear from a selection of voices on why this initiative is so important, and to get more involved.
