Two crises in education – one of equity and one of relevance – compounded by a lack of adequate financing are having dramatic consequences for learners worldwide. Against this backdrop, the Transforming Education Summit (TES) was convened in 2022. This Transforming Education initiative serves as a follow-up to the TES, strengthening momentum from the commitments and calls to action launched there and demonstrating that such a transformation is feasible at scale.

Part of SDG Acceleration Day, this session will bring together member states to launch the Transforming Education coalition as a new vehicle for TES acceleration. In addition, the session will bolster the foundation for upcoming conversations on increasing, more equitable and more efficient education financing while providing greater visibility for youth, teacher, and civil society movements.
