The Global Schools Program, a founding partner of Mission 4.7, has been selected as one of the leading education innovations by HundrED, a global organization that recognizes inspiring innovations in primary and secondary education.
Global Schools will be featured in the HundrED Global Collection Report 2023 as one of the world’s 100 leading innovations in K-12 education. Global Schools was selected out of more than 3,000 applications, passing a rigorous selection and review process led by 188 education experts worldwide.
Global Schools received this honor for its impactful and scalable teacher training and research programs, focusing on building educator capacity and developing sustainable development, global citizenship, and 21st-century competencies for students and within school communities.
Commonalities and trends among this year’s successful innovations included:
Teachers form transformation
21st Century Skills
Student Well-being and Mental Health
Study Agency, and
Equity.
In the Report, HundrED notes that “the single most keyword used was professional development,” and findings pointed to “teachers…at the heart of education innovation.” One third of the innovators focused on teachers, while a quarter focused on 21st-century skills through “socio-emotional learning, global citizenship education, and entrepreneurship”.
Global Schools is honored to be featured as one of the most “impactful and scalable” education innovations to watch in 2023, and looks forward to continuing its crucial work with teachers, students, researchers, and policymakers across the globe.
