All are invited to a Climate Week NYC 2024 virtual event focused on quality climate change education (CCE).
‘Business as usual’ CCE in the United States is failing to achieve the large-scale, systemic changes needed to respond to the climate crisis. This webinar explores what ‘quality CCE’ means in different places through an exciting new series of case studies. Learn about a ‘whole school approach’ being used by an Earthship-style primary school in Argentina, professional development workshops where primary and secondary school students in the UK are ‘teaching their teachers’ to deliver more effective CCE, a ‘deep canvassing’ project that is increasing support for climate action in Canadian mining communities through vulnerable conversations, and how students are advocating for expansive climate education policies in New York state. Join us as we explore ways to unlock the potential of CCE for mobilizing climate action in the US and beyond.
This event is co-hosted by the National Wildlife Federation/Climate & Resilience Education Task Force and the Monitoring and Evaluating Climate Communication and Education (MECCE) Project.
