Centering the Voices of Children and Youth in Education as a Catalyst for Climate Solutions

  • COP29 Green Zone, Extreme Hangout Mainstage Baku Azerbaijan (map)

This event will launch and showcase the #Decarbonize Global Child Climate Manifesto. Co-authored by children across every continent, the declaration statement created by thousands of children in over 75 countries will prioritize the lived experiences and voices of young people impacted by climate change, and give them a platform to ensure that solutions and approaches are shaped by their knowledge and experiences. The #Decarbonize Global Child Climate Manifesto will amplify the voices of those who are most impacted by decisions and yet who have been historically under-represented in such decision-making processes. It will offer clear steps forward in the pursuit of climate education and action, and ensure the involvement and empowerment of young people in this process.
