Improving Climate Change Education with International Large-Scale Assessments

Education is an essential factor in the global fight against climate change. International Large-Scale Assessments (e.g., TIMSS, ICCS, PISA, and TALIS) can provide useful information that has the power to guide conversations about and inform efforts to improve climate change education. Join a panel of leaders in the field as they discuss their work on incorporating sustainability and climate education across different international assessments. Register here.

Panelists:

  • Ruochen Li, Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD)

  • Heather Price, Loyola University Chicago Institute for Racial Justice

  • Ralph Carstens, International Association for the Evaluation of Educational Achievement (IEA)

  • Wolfram Schulz, Australian Council for Educational Research (ACER)

The panel, Improving Climate Change Education with International Large-Scale Assessments, is organized by the Center for Sustainable Futures at Teachers College, as part of Climate Week NYC (Sep 19-25, 2022). Climate Week NYC is one of the biggest global climate events of its kind. It brings together the most influential leaders in climate action from business, government, and the climate community, in conjunction with the United Nations General Assembly and the City of New York.
